“O Abū Bakr, three things are all true: No servant is wronged and overlooks it for the sake of Allah, may He be exalted and glorified, except that Allah strengthens him through it in honor and support; and no man opens the door of giving, intending thereby to maintain ties, except that Allah increases him thereby in abundance; and no man opens the door of asking, seeking increase through it, except that Allah, may He be exalted and glorified, increases him thereby in scarcity”.

Brief Explanation of the Hadith
Among the actions beloved to Allah, for which He grants immense reward, are: pardoning others, spending in the way of Allah, and placing one’s reliance upon Him in fulfilling one’s needs.
In this noble ḥadīth, the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) teaches Abū Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) three great qualities beloved to Allah and rewarded by Him, saying: “O Abū Bakr, three matters—all of them are true.”
The first: Whoever is wronged yet does not seek retribution, but instead restrains his anger and pardons for the sake of Allah—then Allah will compensate him with honor and victory in this world and the Hereafter.
The second: Whoever spends his wealth in good causes, intending thereby to maintain ties of kinship, blessing will settle upon his wealth, and Allah shall increase it due to his act of giving. This is affirmed by the verse: “And whatever you spend of anything in His cause, He will replace it.” (Sabaʾ: 39), and the ḥadīth: “Charity does not decrease wealth.”
The third quality contains a warning against those who take up the path of asking—seeking thereby to increase and accumulate the wealth of others, not out of genuine need or necessity. Such a person will have blessing removed from his wealth, will be brought to actual poverty, and his need will be ever before his eyes.
This ḥadīth thus combines encouragement toward noble character—such as pardoning others and spending in the cause of Allah, which are among the means of attaining blessing—with a warning against the humiliation of asking people for their wealth out of greed and desire for more.
